OOOOlamp™
light from waste

The OOOOOlamp™ is a lighting design project that transforms industrial waste into a source of beauty and illumination.
It gives new life to the discarded cores of hollow core particle board chipboard doors, a byproduct of door manufacturing typically destined for landfill.
During the production of these doors, circular cutouts are made to lighten the structure and accommodate handles or fittings. These perforated boards, marked by a rhythmic sequence of empty circles, become the foundation for the OOOOOlamp™.
In this project, each circular void, originally a mark of waste, is reimagined as a space for light. Spotlights are embedded within the existing holes, turning absence into presence and defect into design. The resulting lamp merges raw industrial materiality with refined minimalism, celebrating the aesthetic potential of reuse.
OOOOOlamp™ highlights sustainability not as an afterthought, but as a design principle, illuminating both space and the unseen value of what is often thrown away.
