LANDSCAPE - CONCEPT
Verona, Italy, 2014
With Samuel Fattorelli
“Bark” rests on the ground as an old fallen sequoia, which doesn’t break the natural harmony. Where the ground has depressions it becomes a bridge, emphasizing its respect for nature, besides it has the abstract shape of a fallen tree.
Comparing the project to the surroundings is the only way to understand deeply the giant scale of this particular natural area.
When we look at a tree from its feet we can’t really realize its height, because of the prospective and the foliage. It is thanks to its position on the ground that people are able to perceive the real size walking along and through “Bark”. For this reason it becomes an educational instrument both outside and inside.
